They call this type of primer "old school". Maybee I am old fashon then but I love it and use it a lot. Actuallt builds pretty high layer and is easy to sand smoth. I use good regular laquer thinner to reduce with, so the product is overall very economical to use. Have not had any ploblems with shrinking so far.

Pretty decent product and packaged very well. Instructions are vague but that's why you tube is awesome. Find a How to video on anything and trouble shoot whatever it is. The light out-put is fantastic and the ballasts are high quality! It is a true plug & play kit and installs without too much trouble. In my "H13" kit for my Hummer H3,(2) capacitors, which are said to eliminate bulb flicker from the HID system, does not work very well. Away from city lights and in the dark of the night I can really notice the flicker. It is not a big deal but something of note. The kit is a cheap way of adding bright colored light and looks cool in the Ice Blue 8000k that I ordered. For what OPT7 provides and how they had designed these kits, I am a satisfied customer!

Product Description

HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. Moreover, the 55 watt halogen bulb uses a continuous power draw of 10-15 amps, while the HID system uses 20 amps for starting up, but then drops down to a mere 3 amps during operation (that is up to 80% less power during use!). In addition to high output and low power usage, the HID headlight provides longer service life. With no filament �to vibrate and fatigue, under normal driving conditions, HID bulbs last roughly 10 times longer than halogen bulbs. What is the HID Color Temperature? Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a light source, in this case the HID bulb. Color temperature is a characteristic of light that is sometimes misunderstood as brightness, when it's more closely related to cool and warm color tones of light. While cool and warm are words used to describe a light's temperature, this may be a bit misleading. The term color temperature actually refers to the color that is associated with the amount of heat needed to produce a color in from an ideal black body. I was really worried after hearing some reviews from friends of mine that even the 5000k bulbs had a blue tint to them. These were really easy to install, hardest part was finding a 1 inch hole saw. We mounted with double back sticky tape and the whole project was done in less than an hour. My headlights are clear and bright and the projection is great as well. We compared this kit to my bf's oem HIDs and the quality is very similar. Very impressed with the quality and price. Now if only the fog light kit was as reasonably priced and I'd grab that too.

Auto Meter 18022 Gauge Works Dual Overhead Console Pod Review

I bought this gauge pod for my 2007 GMC Sierra Classic. The pod is installed by mounting to the windshield with some very aggressive 3M Velcro. This is the only thing supporting the pod, so I moved up my rear-view mirror to help support the pod from underneath. The Velco that's included works very well but it's white in color. The drawback is you can easily see the white squares of the adhesive side through the outside of the windshield. Not a big deal, but it detracts from the appearance of the truck slightly. Some black Velcro would have done the trick but I was in a hurry installing this so I just used the stuff that was included.

The pod does limit how much you can adjust your rear-view mirror somewhat but I was able to find a spot that worked.

The pod was VERY easy to paint. I got some Dupli-Color plastic and vinyl paint and all I had to do to prep the surface of the pod was hit it with a 3M scuffing pad. Three coats of paint and it was good to go. The texture in the plastic doesn't match the factory plastic in the overhead console but it's pretty close.

The AutoMeter 2 1/16" guages fit in to the pod with no modifications. They are a perfect (tight) fit and I didn't need to secure them from the back at all.

The top of the pod doesn't match up to the headliner perfectly, but it's a pretty small gap and could most likely be remedied by using some thicker Velcro on the windshield.

Overall a good product that didn't require any modification (other than painting) to work. It's getting four stars instead of five because of the white Velcro and the fact that it doesn't quite line up with the headliner, leaving a small gap at the top.

VDO WR51138 BMW X5 Rear Window Regulator Review

Apparently the window regulators in BMWs fail often. I purchased this item and had it installed in less than 25 minutes. The most difficult part was removing the door panel. The old regulator came right out and the new one snapped right in. I recommend getting the plastic pry-bars for removing the interior door panel to prevent from damage. There are several You-Tube videos on how to replace depending on specific model.
