Boston Acoustics Se85 5 x 7 Inches 2 Way Se Series Pair of Car Speakers Review

I've always bought Infinity speakers, but with my new CX-7 I figured I would try something new. These speakers sound fantastic. They are far less tinny than the Infinity References I've had on other vehicles. These sound crisp and clear. They also have a little bit of punch that reminds me of my old 1970s red surround Cerwin Vega speakers.

I've heard better than these (specifically the German Maestro brand, wow!) so I'm giving these only 4/5. However I didn't want to buy a whole amplifier and have it sticking out in my trunk somewhere. If you have a good amp get the German Maestros. However I don't have that much patience anymore to install an amp. My stock (base model) head unit can power the Bostons without much effort.

I compared these with the Alpines, in fact most every Alpine I could find in the store. The Alpines are pretty nice but seem to lack a personality. Great clarity. But they felt like they were an appliance that did their job well but maybe could have used a bit more of a "musical" sound. No wow factor for me. Your ears may vary.

Anyway, these SE85 speakers have made me want to rediscover my music collection. If you're like me, then you've strayed away a bit from buying music and don't have time to put together a mix CD anymore or a big playlist. These Bostons make me want to try all my music again. I've started burning CDs and creating playlists. I've been listening to genres and styles I haven't listened to in years just because these sound so great. There are little nuances that I never have noticed. I'm back into loving my music again. I've gone to lazy music appreciator back to avid music listener.

I assume someone will ask about how much bass these have. Although they would sound great with a carefully matched subwoofer, I must mention that I don't think these speakers are made for the type of [inconsiderate] people that drive through your neighborhood with their giant booming subwoofers rattling their doors and aggravating your sanity. These speakers are suited those that care about that blissful clarity and well-measured punch.

I like them.

AFX FX-90 Helmet - Large/Black Review

For the money this is a great helmet. It is comfortable, has an excellent field of vision and looks great. Can easily wear sunglasses beneath the shield. However, since there is little to no chin/neck cowl, noise coming up through the bottom of the helmet is pretty substantial and it is noisy. There is a whistling noise with the visor down as others have mentioned. My agv full face that I paid 3x the price of this one for, is also noisy. I highly recommend wearing ear plugs to mitigate this. Otherwise, no complaints. Love the graphic on this helmet too.
