Alltrade 648990 Kit 55 Bubble Flaring Tool Set Review

Okay.. First off, this item is made by Alltrade but is Powerbuilt brand. It's quality is good. Rather heavy duty and way better then the cheap $30 flare tools. I did every brake line over in my 1996 buick lesabre and had very good results. One issue with this tool is the instructions are wrong. It says to make the end of the tubing flush with the flaring block and even has a picture displaying this. Problem is that if you do this, the flare comes out tiny and not as nearly as large as the stock one. To fix this issue, you have to make the tubing protrude about an 1/8 of an inch above the flaring block. With this method, I got fantastic ISO flares. Also it works best to flare with the tool facing up or the flare can go oblonged. If you flare sideways it's a 50/50 chance of failure. In summary, this tool gets it done and for $50 bucks it's probably one of the best ISO/Bubble flaring tools you can buy.
Oh and always remember! Oil the flaring cone and make sure the flaring block wing nuts are wrench tight. Not hand tight.
