I shoot sports and as such need a very specific set of requirements met and there are almost no options that fit the bill. For example these things were what was important on our searchLight weight
wheels that even move through grass because they are large enough
stable wide steps
wont sink into grass if set up on it
Also a luggage carrier
a few feet high when standing on it
can use a monopod on it
short length wise for putting in a car or trunk
Holds up to 300 LB person
This fit the bill on paper. Let me explain
The steps are completely made of plastic there is no re-inforced anything like a metal bar under the step so it flexes and i am only 200lb
Its heavier than what we wanted but the large wheels make up for it. which was the compromise since the wheels were nice. The problem with the wheels is there is no way to lock them in position so they stay out as you are pulling it behind you. I had them fold right in to the center and i had to stop walking or start dragging the metal accross my driveway. This was only a brief test i tried out a few times in the driveway and it gave me no confidence the wheels would stay in position when pulling it behind me.
I say make the steps all aluminum and make a wheel lockout for dragging behind you and Normandy Lighting or whoever makes these ladders will have the perfect ladder for almost any task other than getting on a roof!
