The KYB Gas-a-Just monotube shock absorber has additional performance advantages over the twin-tube design: It can instantly, automatically adjust to more handling and control needs and never experiences performance fade due to aeration. The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE Monotube replacement and as an OE Twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control and a second high-pressure Nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand. The monotube design provides the best combination when you sometimes need or want more than average or designed ride control performance and steering responsiveness. KYB 555603 Gas-a-Just Montube Shock Review

Very easy to replace on my 2003. Made a world of difference considering the OEM shocks were worn after 125,000 miles. You do NOT need the SM2567 'strut mount kit' if your original cap bolt and top bushing are in good shape (mine were) as the shock comes with a new bottom bushing. The mount kit contains a new bottom rubber bushing, new top rubber bushing, metal cap and nut.

The ride quality for these shocks was rather stiff; this part # is for the Police Interceptor model, so if you are looking to duplicate the rougher ride this is the part for you. If you want a softer ride, look for the town car shocks.
