Victory Motorcycles Windshield Clamp/Bracket Kit 1999-2002 V92C pt# 2201712 Review

I've had these brackets for 5 years ago. They work pretty well. The design is simple - 2 interlocking bracket halves per fork. They mount between the upper and lower triple tree brackets. Each bracket is held tight by 2 allen bolts. The allen bolts also provide the mounting points for the windshield. The windshield slips between the left and right half of the bracket halves, inside a raised lip. They "hook" onto the allen bolts, then you tighten the allen bolts up.

In order to prevent scratching, Victory(Polaris) provides a piece of clear tape for each bracket half. That's nice, but they will still easily scratch the forks. My work-around was to put a piece of rubberized shelf liner material around each fork tube before installing the bracket. This also keeps the brackets from sliding lower on your fork and subsequently scratching or denting the headlight bucket. The rubberized shelfing liner is easily available at most hardware stores, and even some grocery or discount stores and is very inexpensive.

The brackets have functioned well after using the shelfing liner, and the chromed pieces show little to no signs of aging after 5 years and 75,000 miles. This product should recieve 5 starts if the buffering material was something less slippery on more rubbery/cushiony than just tape.
