The outputs are grounded with 1 designated for 110-120 volt on a universal outlet and the other supporting 220-240 volt with a universal outlet. These outputs can be used simultaneously and continuously. It's recommended that your voltage transformer's wattage be 50-100% greater than your appliance's wattage. Items such as TVs, power tools, and microwave ovens require up to 3 times the wattage displayed. This requirement is due to the power surge that occurs when the appliance is first turned on. If your equipment's wattage is not available, then you can still figure out the power rating you need by calculating your appliance's actual wattage using the following formula. This thing was rattling right out of the box. A small machine bolt used to hold the case on had worked it way loose. It was in the shipping box, and the nut was inside the unit itself, inaccessible without taking the whole thing apart. The handle snapped off the first time I tried to lift the unit. The handle breaking was no fluke; with the weight of the unit and the flimsy handle, it had no chance. Plus, it does not come with a cord, which is not mentioned in the listing. There is no cord in the picture, but I did not notice this until I went back and looked, and I doubt that this little oversight makes me unique as the listing should more clearly state that no cord is included. Mine went right back.
